Material Types
PP Recycled Plastic Introduction: Polypropylene (PP) --- When uncolored, it is translucent and waxy. It is lighter than polyethylene, has better transparency, and is more rigid. Mainly used for basins, buckets, furniture, films, woven bags, packing straps, bottle caps, car bumpers, etc.
PE Recycled Plastic Introduction: Polyethylene (PE) --- When uncolored, it is milky white and translucent, waxy; it feels slippery to the touch, is soft yet tough, and can be slightly stretched. Generally, low-density polyethylene is softer and has better transparency, while high-density polyethylene is harder. Mainly used for mulch film, tote bags, water pipes, and oil drums.
PS is polystyrene plastic. It is easy to color and has good transparency. It is often used to make lampshades, toothbrush handles, toys, and electrical components. It is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, but easily soluble in organic solvents such as chloroform, dichloroethylene, and banana oil. PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) is a brightly colored, corrosion-resistant, and durable plastic. However, due to the addition of toxic auxiliary materials such as plasticizers and anti-aging agents during manufacturing, its products are generally not suitable for storing food or medicine.
ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) is a plastic polymerized from acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene. It has vibrant colors, is heat-resistant, strong, and its outer surface can be plated with chromium, nickel, or other metallic films. It can be used to make piano keys, buttons, knife holders, television casings, umbrella handles, etc.
PA (Nylon) is a tough, strong, and wear-resistant plastic, commonly used to make combs, toothbrushes, clothes hooks, fan ribs, mesh bag ropes, fruit packaging bags, etc. It is non-toxic but should not be in prolonged contact with acids or alkalis.
Grading Classification
Recycled plastic granules are mainly classified into grades based on the raw materials used and the characteristics of the processed plastic granules. They are generally divided into Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3.
Grade 1 Material
This refers to raw materials that have not been used before, such as scraps or offcuts, including sprue and glue residue. These are of relatively good quality, unused, and are leftover small scraps or substandard raw materials from the virgin material processing process. Granules processed from these materials have good transparency and are comparable in quality to virgin materials, hence the designation Grade 1 or Premium Material.
Grade 2 Material
This refers to raw materials that have been used once, except in high-pressure granulation. High-pressure granulation often uses imported large-format films, which, if industrial films, have not been exposed to wind and sun, resulting in very high quality granules. The transparency of these granules is good, but the quality should be judged based on the gloss and surface roughness.
Grade 3 Material
This refers to raw materials that have been used two or more times. Granules processed from these materials have poor elasticity, toughness, and other characteristics.
Virgin Material
Crystal clear, with vibrant and pure colors. Excellent surface gloss, giving a "sparkling" appearance.
Recycled Material
The color is typically dark, grayish, or yellowish, resembling an "old" color. It has poor gloss, is matte, and may even have a hazy appearance.
Production Process
Virgin and Modified Material Production: First, precise batching and mixing are carried out according to the formula. Then, the mixture enters a twin-screw extruder, where it melts and mixes uniformly under high temperature and strong shear force, removing volatile substances. The molten plastic strip extruded from the die is immediately cooled and shaped in a water bath, then dried by an air knife. The dried plastic strip is fed into a pelletizer and cut into uniformly sized pellets (e.g., 3mm × 3mm). Finally, the pellets that meet the size requirements are screened by a vibrating screen and homogenized to ensure consistent performance throughout the batch before packaging and warehousing.
Recycled Material Production: The process is more upstream, requiring the sorting, washing, and crushing of recycled waste plastics into fragments before melt granulation.
